`Arms and personnel of the air force, in coordination with the air defense of the Ukrainian defense forces, destroyed 24 Shahed-131/136 drones in Odessa, Mykolaiv and Kirovohrad provinces,`
Vitalii Kim, head of the military administration of Mykolaiv province, confirmed that air defense forces shot down 10 Shahed drones in Mykolaiv last night and early this morning.
The Southern Defense Forces of Ukraine said that of the 24 Shahed UAVs, 10 were shot down in Mykolaiv province, 9 in Kirovohrad province and 5 in Odessa province.
`The enemy continues its efforts to destroy ports and other infrastructure in the south, and is also attacking the central regions,` Ukraine’s Southern Operational Command stated.

The West and Ukraine suspect that the Shahed-136 suicide UAV was produced by Iran and repainted by Russia.
Russia began increasing the use of UAVs last October, in an effort to massively attack Ukraine’s essential infrastructure, causing the capital Kiev and many major cities to lose widespread power during the winter.
Shahed-136 is designed to self-destruct upon impact and has a low flight range, capable of avoiding radar.
Ukraine recently posted images of `dissection` of Russian UAVs.
At the end of last year, the UK determined that Russia had used up most of its UAV inventory produced in Iran and seemed to continue to order from Iran.
The British Ministry of Defense believes that Russia may conduct missile attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure next winter, similar to Moscow’s campaign last year.
Ukraine and the West believe that Russia applied the tactic of raiding the enemy’s energy infrastructure in the cold winter to weaken Kiev’s morale and force Ukraine to make concessions.
