The above comment was made after the US Congress passed a temporary budget bill within 45 days, avoiding a federal government shutdown.

Specifically, the bill includes $16 billion to support natural disaster victims, but does not include an aid package for Ukraine, cuts or a budget for changes in border policy.

The US is the largest aid country to Ukraine after the Russia-Ukraine conflict broke out in February last year.

However, US President Joe Biden affirmed that Washington will not `abandon` Kiev.
