The tactic of building a `fire net` helps Russia intercept UAVs attacking its territory
(Dan Tri) – Russia is said to have built air defense towers similar to the previous German system to deal with UAV attacks.

In response to Ukraine’s unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) attacks on Moscow and other targets inside Russia, the Russian air defense force is redeploying a system dating back to World War II.
Russia is building systems that some observers liken to `air defense towers` used by Germany in previous wars.

The towers built by Russia outside Moscow are not as large as previous German towers.
Judging by the photos, some towers seem to be as tall as a 5-7 story building.
Other Russian towers appear to be lower, like overhead rampsĀ about 6m high.
The Pantsir air defense system is already deployed on the roofs of government buildings in Moscow, but the new structures appear to have been built to house anti-aircraft batteries.

The move comes after multiple UAVĀ attacks on targets within Russia.
According to the BBC, it is estimated that there have been more than 190 UAV attacks on areas within Russian territory and the Crimean peninsula.
In early May, two UAVs believed to be from Ukraine approached directly above the Kremlin, one of the most heavily guarded places.
Air defense towers were not the first decades-old weapon used when conflict broke out in Ukraine.
One question is how much protection Russia’s new air defense system has.
Because Russia is a large country, these air defense systems can only provide defense for certain locations such as air bases and large cities.
According to Russian media, over the years, in order to protect the capital Moscow, Russia has deployed a series of defense systems such as S-500, S-400, S-300, Pantsir-S, S-350.
However, after the outbreak of hostilities between Russia and Ukraine, many new technologies have been applied, in which the danger of drones has posed a new threat.
