(Dan Tri) – The head of Ukraine’s military intelligence agency announced that the country will periodically carry out attacks until the bridge connecting the Crimean peninsula to mainland Russia is completely destroyed.

In an interview with the media on the occasion of accompanying President Volodymyr Zelensky to visit the United States last week, the head of the General Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Military Kirill Budanov said that most of the raids on Russian-controlled territory were directed.
He emphasized that this activity will continue until Ukraine wins the conflict with Russia.
Mr. Budanov paid special attention to the raids targeting the Crimea Bridge, which connects the Crimean peninsula with mainland Russia across the Kerch Strait.
He announced that Ukraine will continue to attack the Crimea bridge until it is completely destroyed.
`The question is not whether we will attack or not. We do this periodically and will continue until the end. It’s just a matter of time,` Mr. Budanov said.
The head of Ukraine’s military intelligence also signaled that Kiev would increase attacks on Crimea.
Crimea merged with Russia in 2014 after a controversial referendum.
The 19km long bridge was inaugurated in 2018, about 4 years after Crimea annexed Russia, and became the longest bridge in Europe.
Recently, Ukraine has continuously attacked Russian targets on and around the Crimean peninsula, including the Crimean Bridge and the Black Sea Fleet.
Most recently, Kiev announced a successful raid on the headquarters of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in the city of Sevastopol on the Crimean peninsula.
According to observers, through consecutive attacks on Crimea, Ukraine seems to want to send the message that even though the counterattack campaign is slow, they still have the ability to cause losses to Russia.
Spokesperson of the Ukrainian Defense Intelligence Agency Andrii Yusov said Russia is using Crimea as a logistics center, so the peninsula becomes a legitimate target for Ukraine.
